La Chronique de Ysodore (The Chronicle of Isidore)

Isidore of Seville was archbishop of Seville in the early seventh century. A prolific author, his works were copied throughout the middle ages, and are considered some of the final writings of classical antiquity. The Chronique is a brief history of the world from the beginning to the year 616. It is sometimes called the Chronica Maiora.

This translation of the text is included in a collection of texts relating to the history of southern Italy from Roman times to the coming of the Normans, which was produced at the Angevin court in Naples early in the fourteenth century.
